The brief was to compliment a unique multi level house by Philip Stejskal for a young family who wished for an integrated house and garden.

Flow, connection and conversation with the architecture was the requisite of the outdoor spaces. Extreme level changes gave rise to interesting landscape solutions with stone boulders and timber sleepers.

The front garden features the softness of Donnybrook sandstone, sculpturally arranged to for steps, edgings and seats.  An eclectic mix of succulents, native perennials  and mediterranean herbs form a complimentary palette, highlighted by feature Arbutus ‘Pink Pearls.’

The house featured a central courtyard where Toodyay stone is paved to emulated a dynamic landscape.

The rear garden at the lower area of the site is characterised by the heavier Toodyay stone boulders, dedicated to adventure and play for the younger family members.
