In tandem with a renovation to the rear of the house by Kristy Warick-Smith Architect, a new landscape was requested by the clients, a young family who desire a garden that surrounded their alfresco with natives and also provided ample edible trees and vegetables.

With a 5m fall across the property, the existing landscape was characterised by mass limestone retaining walls.  The salvaging and repurposing of these walling material  created a unqiue landscape rockery effect for the front while vegetable beds were formed at the rear. Natural hewn Toodyay stones form steps and retaining, whilst forming a natural and comforting nestling of the formal alfresco spaces.

A neglected corner of the property is transformed into a fire pit area, paired with a timber deck constructed around an existing olive tree, creating one of the the most popular parts of the garden.
